Rhena cast splint system is the next generation in splints. Rhena cast splint consists of a knitted, multi-layer polyester fabric impregnated with a polyurethane resin and coated with a layer of foam padding on one side and cotton flannel on the other side. It is not only easy to cut but also eliminates any concerns about rough fibreglass edges. Rhena cast splint is used for external immobilisation of arms and legs.

Because the polyester substrate is a multi-layer knit, it thoroughly absorbs the single-strand polyurethane resin. This ensures that only the substrate is coated with resin.

The polyester non-woven layer provides a resin barrier so it is possible to handle the substrate.

This layer, which is next to the foam, is water repellent so the open-cell foam applied next to the skin remains dry.

By allowing an even airflow around the limb, the open-cell foam ensures patient comfort. It also has the added benefit of hugging the limb to prevent splint migration - keeping the splint in place.

Rhena cast splint system is available as rolls or pre-cut splints. The pre-cut single splints come in packs of five.
